PAID-ESA Strengthens Strategic Partnership Network with REWAC to Advance Humanitarian Resilience in Cameroon

PAID-ESA has formalized a strategic partnership with the Refugee Welfare Association Cameroon (REWAC), within the broader PAID–PPI collaboration framework, to advance humanitarian assistance, resilience building, and sustainable development for displaced and vulnerable communities in Cameroon.

The Pan African Institute for Development – East and Southern Africa (PAID-ESA) has formalised a strategic partnership with the Refugee Welfare Association Cameroon (REWAC), reinforcing its expanding collaboration ecosystem under the broader PAID–Prepared International (PPI) partnership framework.

This partnership establishes a structured platform for advancing humanitarian assistance, resilience building, and sustainable development interventions targeting refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and vulnerable host communities in Cameroon. It reflects a deliberate effort to operationalise a multi-level cooperation model that integrates global advocacy (PPI), regional leadership (PAID-ESA), and local implementation (REWAC).

Through this collaboration, PAID-ESA will provide strategic advisory support, technical expertise, and international visibility, while REWAC will ensure localised implementation, community engagement, and field coordination. This complementary approach enhances the effectiveness, scalability, and sustainability of interventions in fragile and displacement-affected contexts.

The partnership will focus on key priority areas, including humanitarian protection, livelihoods and economic empowerment, education and capacity building, research and policy engagement, and resource mobilisation. It also creates a pathway for strengthening knowledge systems through joint research, documentation, and evidence-based policy dialogue.

In addition, the collaboration is expected to unlock new opportunities for donor engagement and strategic resource mobilisation, leveraging PAID-ESA’s institutional networks and REWAC’s operational footprint to deliver high-impact, results-oriented programmes.

From a people-centred approach, the agreement provides a flexible framework for the development and implementation of joint initiatives, aligned with shared principles of accountability, inclusion, and sustainable impact.

“This partnership reflects our strategic vision of building integrated, multi-level collaborations that connect global influence, regional expertise, and local action. Through our engagement with REWAC, within the broader PAID–PPI framework, we are strengthening our collective capacity to deliver impactful, evidence-based solutions to some of the most pressing humanitarian and development challenges in Cameroon and across the region. This is not just a partnership—it is a deliberate step towards transforming how we design, finance, and implement resilience-driven interventions in Africa.”
